Literacy & Math

I could post 100's of ideas but have decided to just include some of my favourite ideas that are simple to do at home.

Different ways to practice letter and shape formation and recognition beyond the typical pencil and paper.

Make letters, numbers, words, or shapes in sand or shavin cream

Water and food coloring to write in the snow,

Write with a white crayon.  Then paint over the crayon with watered down paint to reveal the letter.

Use a Q-tip and paint or bingo dobber.

or you can write with white crayon and color over top with marker.

Sometimes it is too much for a child to think of a sentence all while spelling and printing the words correctly.  This is a fun activity to focs on reading sight words and creating sentences without having to think about the spelling and letter formation of each word.
